Earning a feature in a summer issue of 76107 Magazine, this is truly a cover-worthy project. The richness of the design and history of this 1938 home has received some much-deserved attention. Incorporating a modern style with elements original to the home, we created a better use of space for today’s sixth-generation owner. We love the story of this project and hope it will inspire others to reinvent older spaces to fit their current needs.

We wanted to create a big impact for a big family, and this remodel gave them just the space they needed to be together. By opening up the kitchen and breakfast areas and adding windows for abundant natural light, we created a space that allows this family to live functionally while staying true to their style. We also added a ceiling to the original two-story kitchen to create a new, perfect nook and study space upstairs. Featuring high-contrast paint colors, stain elements, and mid-century decorative accents, this project highlights our extensive creative range.

This major kitchen remodel for a busy family brought a clean and bright aesthetic to the open concept floor plan. In a home heavily influenced by stained wood, this kitchen feathers in the existing use of stain for a cohesive and transitional design. The custom backsplash pattern of gloss and matte tile finishes give an effortless look. Gone is the weight and style of “old world” as this casual and organic kitchen brings new light and life to the heart of this home.

This home is truly where the heart is—our heart, that is. It is our company's namesake and where we are building our family’s story. The transformation has been a journey. We started with simple exterior updates, namely a modern walkway of concrete pads with crushed blue granite and a new stained front door flanked by modern sconces. Our “California Transitional” style is now heading inside. We created a formal yet playful design for our secondary bathroom that doubles as a powder room and kid’s bath. Next for our beloved home is a renovated master bed and bath suite that we can’t wait to complete and unveil.

Talk about a client who owns her style! This unique and entirely custom home was created for a client who knows exactly what she wants. In a boy-dominated household, this mother of two was not afraid to take risks with feminine aesthetics. From unexpected light fixtures to a bold backsplash, there’s something conversation-starting everywhere you look. This clean, California-cool home is a project that continues to inspire us to take risks.

LAKE HOUSE

This family-oriented home has been passed down through the generations. With the goal of making it more suitable for the way families gather now, we opened the space up and added lots of natural light. We used kid-friendly materials, colors, and wall coverings to create a cheerful place where friends and relatives can gather comfortably. It is now a classic, peaceful, welcoming home-away-from-home where our clients can escape and connect with one another and the outdoors.

This clean, bright, and light-filled project combines classic geometric patterns with modern elements, like the show-stopping tub. We mixed in new light fixtures while utilizing some of the old and installed custom cabinetry in the master closet. The end result was a modern yet timeless space with details that are tonal and unexpected. Most importantly, we were able to achieve our ultimate goal of making the space feel larger and more livable.

Lovers of a clean, white and navy palette with a nod to the East Coast, our clients requested a highly functional kitchen that was both intentional and useful without sacrificing design. We opened up this kitchen, creating an inviting space that is welcoming to guests and conducive to their family lifestyle.

This project captured our hearts from first inquiry—a freak lighting strike led to a major remodel that opened up a double living space that was once the formal and family rooms. We worked alongside the architect to give this family some much-needed space. In the process, we were able to enhance our client's lifestyle by adding character in special moments and details throughout.

Blending different textures, like woods, leathers, and vibrant fabrics, we created a one-of-a-kind space for our clients. Thoughtfully tailored to their taste, the space features playful patterns, eclectic details, and real depth. We curated furnishings that were old and new and incorporated lots of blue and white to create a traditional-meets-modern home that will withstand the test of time.

This kitchen remodel was one of our favorites to date. Featuring stained wood before it was cool, this project perfectly showcases the beauty of effortless, organic design. The exterior views were very influential in this open kitchen. By incorporating the established background, opening sight lines, and connecting existing spaces, this multi-level house was not only modified but enhanced.

We completed this home’s transformation in several phases—starting with the kitchen and master bathroom remodel and continuing into secondary spaces, including an inspiring designated Peloton room with millwork embellishments and a mature bedroom update for their maturing daughter. Throughout this home, 13THIRTY DESIGNS curated a design where luxe meets high-contrast for maximum impact. This is trend-setting, not trend-following.

This home and family are near and dear to our hearts. They considered their current and future lifestyles in every decision made throughout the process. This kitchen was a hallmark project for 13THIRTY DESIGNS and its signature blue is still our most inquired-about color. Our client had a strong vision of how they wanted to live in their space, and we loved leading them to bold color, layered texture, and open shelving in the kitchen. High-contrast farmhouse meets home in this custom space.

This kitchen remodel is the perfect balance of rustic and glam. A
statement backsplash with mirrored and patterned detail is juxtaposed in the space with two different countertops, both lending to the rustic and glam elements of the space in their own ways. Warm brass accents highlight both styles with decorative lighting and hardware.
